Charity Cruise from St Bees, Cumbria to Ramsey, Isle of Man, Easter Weekend 2005

Trip Details.

The trip from St Bees to Ramsey is a 32 mile crossing. (If everyone has insurance we can consider setting of from Whitehaven Marina, much easier to launch!). We'll be going there and back in a day. We are planning to go on any suitable day over the bank holiday weekend. So thats from friday 25th March until Monday 28th March. We are open to discussion on how we play it. People could travel on Thursday and stay the entire weekend until Monday and we'll have 4 days to get good weather or travel on Friday have Saturday and Sunday for the attempt and travel home on the Monday.

A refuelling stop (for those that need it) @ Ramsey in the Isle of Man and/or hopefully via safety boat/s along the way.

Things you'll need.

1) Your ski. In a condition such that you'll make it there and back. The obvious stuff like full with fuel and oil. We would advise bringing a spare set of spark plugs, fire extinguisher, a small tool kit and first aid kit.
2) A tow rope just in case!
2) Drinking Water, food. It'll be hard work if conditions aren't brilliant.
3) Appropriate Clothing. Nuff Said. Life Jacket, Suit, Goggles, Gloves, Boots etc.
4) Is your ski datatagged? If not get it done, its not expensive. It would make life easier for us as we can identify you by your datatag number.
5) Flares, mobile phone. We will be carrying them and also have a VHF Radio and its looking like we'll have a safety boat to come with us.
6) Booze? Not till later!
