St Bees Lifeboat Station Slipway.

Local Rules must be followed.

This slipway is here to ensure that the lifeboat can put to sea in the event of an emergency. This means that under no circumstances should the slipway be blocked at any time. Basically you need to prepare your ski in the car park below and launch as quickly as possible.

The car park at the top of the slip. Prepare for launching here before driving down. This is a pay and display car park so get a ticket or you may end up with one!
This is the slipway. At high tide the slip is covered. This is when you must make haste and get your craft into the water and get your vehicle and trailer back up to the car park. An anchor is handy here to moor your ski if you don't have another person to drive your vehicle. When the tide is low as shown here, common sense tells you that you can take your time with the launch providing you launch over to the left of slipway as the lifeboat trailer comes straight out down the slip. Once you have completed the launch move the vehicle back up to the car park.
